JESUS CARES Ministry is a fully volunteer operated Interdenominational Christian Charitable Organisation. Our volunteers come from a range of backgrounds across the whole body of Christ. JESUS CARES has operated in the inner city of Sydney since 1987, through our food van ministry. The purpose is to reach out to the lost, homeless and hurting people on the streets with the Good News of JESUS. We firmly believe that only through a life changing experience of knowing JESUS as their Lord and Saviour will they really be set free from their current circumstances.
To be a volunteer requires no special abilities. God is not so interested in our abilty as our availability.
We have experienced leaders, both men and woman who provide, protect, train and mentor volunteers. Their experience, skills and knowledge of the streets have been incorporated into our training programs for the awareness of safety and to provide emotional and spiritual support. From time to time we will implement a training course to revise and recruit volunteers. You can experience "hands on" training on your first night out. Be it serving coffee / food (hospitality) witnessing or praying for people (evangelism) worship & praise or fellowship.
The experience you gain in this ministry, may help with future employment prospects or serving in your Church.

3.) How To Define Homelessness.
The Mental Disorders Categories are;
*schizophrenia
*alcohol use
*drug use
*mood and anxiety disorders.
Generic Discription of Homelessness.
*Primary homelessness
*Secondary homelessness
*Tertiary homelessness

4.) Spiritual Warfare
A Guide To Spiritual Warfare on The Streets.
Use of Scriptures.
Helps to discern whether we are dealing with a "mental problem" or a demonic spirit which is very real.

EQUIPPING FOR FRONTLINE MINISTRY

You can:
1.) Lead People To Christ
2.) Pray for others
3.) Healing
4.) Summarize other world religions / sects (Muslim, Buddism, Hindu, Mormons, Jehova Witness etc;) in order to know how we can effectively witness The Gospel of JESUS through understanding and love without condemnation or judgement of their culture and beliefs.
