History of Jesus Cares
|
Jesus Cares started in 1987 through the vision of John Jones, who heard that there were street kids as young as 7 in and around Kings Cross. John gathered a group of people together who started a coffee shop in Kings Cross which eventually led to a Food Van ministry. The Van Ministry was a way of reaching street kids, the homeless and those marginalised by society the love of Jesus.
We have a Fellowship Meeting at The Salvation Army Street Level Hall located in Surry Hills where our friends can hear the Gospel, participate in praise & worship, recieve prayer, do a bible study and have a hot meal.
"JESUS CARES AT STREET LEVEL" (each Sunday upstairs) Cnr Crown and Albion Streets Surry Hills Service times: 4.00pm - 5.30pm (doors open 3.30pm) Come and join us. All welcome.
22yrs OF STREET MINISTRY When JESUS CARES started, none of us had any knowledge about the drug culture or any other aspects of street life. It could be said we had no money, no experience and no brains. Nonetheless God used us and He continues to do so today.Those of us who have been involved for a long time, can look back on our life and see how much God has changed us. JESUS CARES Ministry gives ordinary people from the body of Christ an opportunity to serve the King of Kings and to serve the least. If you want God to use you and you'd like to volunteer please contact;
